Self-Kindness: A way of Life
The power of self compassion and kindness becomes obvious when you witness someone with higher regards for themselves, and no I am not talking about an egoistic person but someone who is kind to themselves and offers compassion to themselves when in need. With love and care, they bring changes in their life. Witnessing someone so loving to themselves is so remarkable, it creates a greater impact on you.
I met someone like that months ago and that changed my total outlook of life. It was so inspiring and positive, I instantly knew, I want to practice self-love myself!
But I felt lost, I did not understand for a while ‘what is self-love?’, ‘what does it mean to love yourself?’. I felt lost and confused.
Though, I understood one thing, I will only be able to truly love myself if I truly accept myself and that is where self-compassion and self-kindness plays a significant role. In a journey to forgive yourself and give yourself a real chance, free from judgment and scrutiny of yourself and others.
Recognizing Negative Self-Talk
When a negative thought catches us on our way, we tend to forget what matters. We tend to believe it and think, this is our true reality and then a series of other negative emotions derail us backwards.
