A Tribute To Liam Payne
Around 2014 through my sister I discovered the songs of One Direction. During that time I was going through my first heartbreak and recovering from my first episode of depression. When my soul felt unseen and rejected, when nothing good was going on in my life. One direction helped me keep going.
‘What makes you beautiful’ soon became my go-to song at the time. A song I listened to for hours in repetitive mode and how could I not! Five super cute and good looking boys are telling me ‘that’s what makes you beautiful’ so how could I not believe them? So I did.
With shocking news of the untimely death of Liam Payne. I couldn’t help but wonder if he remembered in his last moments, how much he is loved by young women throughout the world.
How much love and hope he has given and still gives to young girls and women all around the globe. Because even now, when the insecurities try to creep into my bones or I feel low for xyz reasons, ‘What makes you beautiful’ is my go to song.
I know now he is in the arms of peace and I want to remind him how much he is loved and admired by millions and billions of people. He could achieve that in his teenage days, something many people only hope for throughout their life.
I hope he remembered in his last moments, the love all of us bear for him. I hope he remembered how much love and hope he had given to women like me. I hope he knows that he is gone but his legacy that he has created through his songs will always be alive in our heart.
